Recap: Hermès x Pius

This event was special to us. We’ve always believed that the contrast between regional identity and global high fashion brands create input, and that both depend on this input, but experiencing this first hand when Pius worked with Hermès was unique for us. 

Since Day 1 at Pius’s first Fashionweek four years back, he set it as a bit of a goal to one day work with Hermès. And now, a few seasons later, that collaboration happened. 

Like Hermès as a brand – deliberate, intentional and with controlled growth - this journey was not a sprint; it developed naturally over time. After a year or two of Paris Fashionweek, Pius met Maria, who works in PR for Hermès. Through a project with Esquire magazine, Pius was able to get behind the scenes to shoot the German talents. 

A few shows later and Pius was invited to a dinner along with Jean-Claude (@newkissontheblog), and things just clicked. Maria and Pius became great friends, sharing everything from late-night karaoke car rides through Paris, to club nights that lasted till 5 AM. 

Pius never really expected Hermès to book him directly, but Maria kept pushing for him. Eventually, her boss saw the photos Pius had captured at the last Hermès Party in Paris - we previously shared this in our blog-recap “Front row is a mindset”. She loved the vibe of the pictures and made it clear to get him on board for their next project. 

So naturally, for Pius the next stop was Berlin. However, Hermès is definitely not your average brand. No quick party, where you grab a drink and leave. Everything is planned meticulously, calm and high-end – in the best way possible. It was just pure Hermès, pure quiet luxury. The vibe, the people and the entire atmosphere felt like a different world, a world one normally can’t even touch.  

Despite this, the whole night was incredibly close-knit, down-to-earth and personal. Everyone stayed until the absolute end of the night. No one wanted to leave, right up until the DJ really could not play one more song, and the venue told everyone it was time to head home. 

It was an amazing night, packed with great faces, friends, actors, musicians and press. Here’s to the next one!
